Therapy is brief, solution focused and dynamic.
As a fully qualified integrative psychotherapist, I use a wide range of techniques, including Hypnosis, mindfulness,
Solution focused Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Counselling, and compassion-focused cognitive approaches.
Anxiety is my specialist area of expertise and interest and I cover all issues connected , including anxiety during pregnancy, bereavement related anxiety phobias, public speaking fears, panic attacks, generalised anxiety, and OCD.
I incorporate a range of psychological philosophies, with a particular focus on Positive Psychology,Transpersonal Psychology, and Compassion focused Therapy.
I also incorporate the teaching of deep relaxation techniques and mindfulness based approaches within the therapeutic setting.

Specialist interests include:Anxiety, Depression -mild to moderate, Obsessive Compulsive disorder – using a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Counselling and Hypnotherapy, based on the work of Professor Jeffrey Schwartz and the 4 step programme;, Stress management, performance enhancement and achievement; confidence, self esteem , Alcohol problems, Insomnia, Motivation, Chronic fatigue & Fibromyalgia.
As a full member of The United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP) The Complementary and Natural Health care Council (CNHC), a fellow of the national Society for Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (FNSHP), and the Hypnotherapy Association, I am bound by a strict code of conduct and ethics, and in meeting all registration requirements. This includes continued professional development and regular clinical supervision.
I offer an initial 10 minute telephone assessment where you can give details of the issue you would like to be resolved and the changes you would like to make, and also to ask any questions you may have about the therapy I offer. You can then decide how to move forward.
My sessions are usually 50 minutes. I am able to offer longer on your first session at my Chinley practice. See my consulting rooms and fees page for further details
For smoking cessation I offer a one session double appointment of one hour and forty minutes but allowing for up to two hours.
My practice days are Mondays, Some Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday mornings. I also offer some Saturday morning appointments.
My sessions run on the hour from 10.00am until 1.00pm in the morning, and afternoons run from 2.00pm until 6.00pm. and until 5.00pm on Fridays.
